Non-drivable vehicles that have been towed to
D&M Auto Body will be disassembled so a complete estimate
can be written from the start. To reduce delays during
the auto body repair, repair of your vehicle will not begin until
all parts have been received. Knowing the full extent
of the damage and having all replacement parts on hand,
greatly reduces the overall repair time of your vehicle.
If
you are undecided on a collision repair auto body shop or allowing
another individual to pay for your repairs, and are choosing
a repair shop by comparing estimates, be aware that not
all shop estimates or repairs are the same. It may not
be in your "best interest" to select an auto body shop based on a
lower priced estimate. Your vehicle is a sizeable investment
and a "cheaper repair" could affect your vehicle's value,
dependability and safety. If repair cost is a primary
concern, there may be several different repair options
from which to choose. Our staff will be happy to explain
any that are appropriate for your vehicle's repair.
Insurance Claims
When
reporting a claim, your insurance company may suggest
that you should use one of their network-preferred shops
for repairs (like HMO networks). Remember they cannot
insist that you do! Insurance company auto body
repair network shops are required to follow strict guidelines
that dictate how your vehicle will be repaired.
In many cases these guidelines mandate the use of used
or imitation parts, insufficient material allowances and
cost cutting procedures, which only benefit the insurance
company.
As
the vehicle owner you always have the right to choose
D&M Auto Body as your collision repair facility, even
if we are not on your insurance company's preferred list.
At D&M Auto Body we feel your insurance company is
responsible paying for the best possible repair not the
cheapest.
Our
staff will negotiate with any insurance company
on your behalf to help get maximum coverage while insuring
your safety and maintaining the value of your vehicle.
The goal of our insurance negotiating process is to settle
your claim in a way that will allow us to produce the
highest quality collision repair on your vehicle.
To
expedite repairs, please schedule the insurance appraisal
at our shop. We will disassemble the vehicle to
expose any "hidden" damage, and then work with the insurance
appraiser to determine a complete repair price for your
vehicle. If your vehicle has already been appraised,
all we need is a copy of the insurance company appraisal
and your vehicle. Our staff will then make all necessary
arrangements to have the insurance company re-inspect
your vehicle after it's disassembly.
